Editorial

Editorial makeup and hair has its own specifics from start to finish. This type of service starts way before the photo shoot itself. Creative Director, producer or buyer has its own vision that has to come to life with help of creative artists.

Everyone in the team has its own purpose and my task is to meet and discuss the plan and creative goal. Develop and design Makeup and Hair Look, submit to Directors and only when looks confirmed, everything is ready for an actual shoot. One of my most important responsibilities besides the MUAH itself is to assist on set and make sure the model looks her 100%!

Film and TV

Fascinating world of Movie industry always seems so upscale and glamorous but don’t be fooled:). Behind that beautiful movie scene with perfect faces and fantastic heroes stands the whole crew of hard working, a little tired but happy people whose working hours are 14-16 a day, who live and breath production sets and dream of “rolls” and “cuts” and who patiently waiting for the “Premier Day” just to feel that proud moment of tension and excitement one more time.

The key task for a Makeup and Hair Artist is to understand exactly the style and time period and the story of the film. Serious preparation is the key. Breakdowns, mood boards, meetings and shopping. Communication with other art departments is essential and will help to visualize the whole picture and better prepare for the Actor’s looks.

Photo sessions

Makeup and Hair for a Classic Indoor or Outdoor Photo session has its own preparations and steps to take. Communication with the photographer or a client before the shoot as important as on the day itself. If Makeup and Hair Trial didn’t happen previously I will make sure to communicate “the look” while the client in my chair. My biggest suggestion is to hire for full day, it will help to keep an eye on the client through the whole session and do touch ups and fixes and make sure no makeup ooops happened during the wardrobe change or craft breaks.

Normally I would wear multiple hats on the set such as Makeup and Hair Artist, Photographer’s Assistant, Wardrobe Assistant, Personal Assistant, Creative Director(if one needed), behind the scenes photo and video capture.

I guarantee the best value for the price of a one makeup artist and one great professional and ambitious production partner for the day!

Commercials

Commercials may showcase any imaginable style! From a fantasy creatures to a regular busy stay home mom:). There could be Video Production or Publishing, both require unique attention to the main characters and message they are delivering to the public. In most cases I get requested to provide only Makeup and Hair Services and Extra Creative decisions of the project are left to Producers and Directors.

Weddings

This is a special large category where Team of Artists are trained and specialize on Bridal Makeup and Hair Up-dos and Styles.

Most Important skill our Artists carry is ability to listen and understand the bride. Sensitive approach alone with high quality application and great attitude is the perfect morning greeting for our Bride on the day of her Wedding!

I find this category most fun and flexible in regards to styles of the Makeup and Hair. Based on the experience I should say the Client usually allows me to be a little bit more creative and brave on that day. Special Events may include:

Birthdays, Anniversaries, Honeymoons, Social events, Concerts, Parties, Glam for Speakers and Public Figures, Family Dinners, Charitable Evenings, Surprise for your honey, Public Holidays, Proms, Gift for a friend/daughter/mom and any day of the year when you need to feel and look glamours and extra beautiful!:)

Beauty

I’ve decided that this category deserves a separate column!

This category includes any type of natural and very settled application. One of the main key ingredients to achieve perfect natural look is the quality of the products used!

I guarantee high quality and smart professional application.

What do I call “smart”? Artist must understand all sorts of forms of the facial features and textures of the skin so as colors ( eyes, lips and skin itself). Age appropriate approach plays significant role in professional look as well. “Natural” or “no makeup” look often takes the same amount of time as any glam style because small mistake will stand out immediately on a “bare” face. Where does this type of style gains popularity? Film and TV, children, elderly, commercials, clients who do not use makeup daily, corporate and other cases.

My main task is to create younger and fresher look!

SPFX

I am trained to provide basic special effects for any type of project either its professional or private.
